Protea Performance Center
Life pain free, naturally
What are Orthobiologics (AKA Regenerative Medicine)?
Orthobiologics are natural substances from your own body used to help heal injuries to bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. They enhance your body’s natural healing process by delivering extra healing cells directly to the injured area.
COMMON ORTHOBIOLOGIC TREATMENTS
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy: We use concentrated platelets from your blood to promote healing.
Autologous cellular therapy: Your own bone marrow, which contain adult stem cells, concentrated and in-injected into injured tissues.
BENEFITS
Natural and Safe: Uses your body’s own substances.
Minimally Invasive: Simple procedures with minimal downtime.
Accelerated Healing: Speeds up the recovery process.
Pain Relief: Helps reduce pain and improve function.
Who Can Benefit?
Orthobiologic treatments may be a great option for individuals experiencing persistent pain or discomfort from injuries that are taking longer than expected to heal. These treatments can support the body’s natural recovery process and, in some cases, may help patients avoid surgery. The goal is to help you feel better and get back to the activities you love with minimal downtime

What to Expect After the Procedure
Increased Pain Initially
It’s normal to experience increased pain in the treated areas for the first few days after the procedure. This temporary discomfort is a natural part of the healing process as your body responds to the treatment.
Avoid Anti-Inflammatory Medications
We recommend avoiding anti-inflammatory medications like NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen) during your recovery period. These medications can interfere with the healing process promoted by the treatment.
Limit Strenuous Activity
To facilitate optimal healing, avoid strenuous activities and heavy exercise for the first week or two. Gentle movements are encouraged, but listen to your body and don’t overdo it.
Gradual Healing Over 3 to 12 Months
Healing takes place slowly over a three-month period for PRP and 12 month period for Bone Marrow Concentrate. You may notice gradual fluctuations in your pain during this time, but the goal is a general improvement in pain and function during this time.
Follow-Up Evaluation
Our clinic will periodically check on you in those first three months to track your progress. Then, at three months you will follow up with the physician to assess your progress and determine if an additional treatment is necessary to achieve the best possible outcome.
